Dont forget to ventillate the garage extremely well for fumes and for dust. The system we have at work captures the fumes and has a fan running constantly venting it to the outside like an industrial sized hood vent over a stove. Some gasses are heavier than air and need to be vented at floor level.

Remember they pulled permits to build so that requires inspections. The inspections will follow the application that was given to gain the permits to build. They have talked about installing a paint booth and the epa has tightened up on paint and body shops. Local code enforcement should hopefully guide them in the proper direction.

Would highly recommend doing some kind of floor treatment at the new garage. Protect the concrete, make for easy cleanup, and give the place a really clean look. Imagine the headquarters epoxy floor y'all did in that massive shop.

Alright Boyz, I'm going to put my white helmet back on for the first time since 2004 and talk about Fire Safety and prevention. At this point in your construction, you and Pops need to decide whether or not to go with a sprinkler system, or extinguishers, unless the building codes mandate a sprinkler system for auto/truck repair facilities or storage of flammable materials. Find out where, not only the closest Fire Department is, but also the closest Hydrant. If no hydrant is close by or you are in an Unincorporated area and you have to dig a well to supply the building. Look into a Stand pipe for the Fire Department to hook up to for a water source. That will help with your property insurance rates. Right before you move in, ask your Fire Department to come and do a Pre-plan so that in the event of the worst, the First-in will have all the information on the building, what chemicals are stored, contact info, instructions for saving the Viper first, followed by the Lambo, etc. It's all about priorities!

Always go for some sort of automated system as well as water, foam, co'2 and powder fire extinguishers, they wont be there 24/7.

you guys might want to consider putting in either a roll down door or sliding door to go in front of your door to protect everything in your garage and keep people from breaking the glass and getting in

    • Joseph Jones
      Joseph Jones

@R0llinc0al maybe but how many times do you think any insurance will continue to cover burglaries if they don't attempt to prevent it? Not to mention that majority of insurance companies will only give you what they believe the value is never what it actually costs

The shop is looking amazing but as a few have said, while it’s still in its early stages, get a very good security system, cameras and all. Doing the floor like at the new HQ is important and a couple lifts, definitely your own paint booth, no more waiting in availability or cleaning up after other people. Frame machine maybe but definitely a tire machine. But again, looking great guys 👍

Just to mention, guys, i am sure you missed important part while door installation. I would cover the wood beam on the concrete with at least joist tape even if it’s pressure treated and moreover, seal it with roofing or flashing cement or some kind of silicone. The way you did it - be ready for water from under the door while raining weather. Talk to professional installers for proper sealing.

Lol, I was thinking the exact same thing, I could already see a water issue coming from around the door when the next rain 🌧 hits these guys. I don't understand why they didn't do this when they should of known with their brother being in construction and them themselves having some construction experience in the past and with building their house, they had water issues around their windows they installed because they did the same thing and just threw them in and had to seal them up after as well.

If it were my shop I'd definitely do some quality lifts and epoxy floors. Hard lines for air. Lots of outlets. Paint booth. SECURITY CAMERAS!!! Security lighting. As far as the jeep... I think a cool overland or "zombie apocalypse" style build would be a fun build. Snorkle kit a definite need. Maybe a nice horse power gain to hit the steeper trails or running from the undead! Lol

First and foremost, needs a 12 ft tall security privacy fence around the entire property with electric gates. Then at the back of the property, a giant covered area to park all of the builds out of the weather, plus storage. Then on the inside, definitely 2 lifts, tire machine and balancer, paint booth and a area with a electric winch for pulling motors out. Definitely need to install a exhaust fan in the building. LED lighting throughout the whole shop and outside. A good air compressor system throughout. A good workbench area. And finally, a top notch security system with cameras, sirens lighting for the entire property. Good luck and can't wait to see it completely finished...

I'd look into automating the garage doors. Id also install a commercial access control/video surveillance system; integrate both systems into one for ease and convenience. That simply safe crap aint enough for this type of building. Flood lights are also important. If you wanna take it up a notch, you can also automate the front gate with an intercom

Roller door over the glass (must have), plenty of LED lights around the exterior on corners and sides to light the way (you can't have too many lights) and an up or down light of some type at the front to light up a logo/sign if you plan on having Goonzquad sign board made up for the front. Also get circuits "ready" for before you do the concrete to run lighting out to the "skid pad" area, you may want some of those tall football field lights there, and some nice bollard lighting at the front for the entrance. Also consider metal bollards behind the roller door, so in the event someone gets the door open, you can't get vehicles out. Peace!

Minimum things you should have in the shop. Paint booth, tire machine, good quality air compressor hardlined to several locations with driers, bearing press, obviously a lift or two, lots of security cameras, ceiling fans from the company Big Ass Fans, a good first aid kit, sufficient Led lighting, forklift, elevated fluid drainage pan. There's much more but this is a good start, paired with what you already have. Probably a frame machine later on, I would take the vehicles somewhere else for alignments so you don't lose valuable shop space with another big machine. Lastly, good insurance to protect your investments.

I think the paint booth should be an independent structure outside of the main building. Inside, it would take up too much space.

Lot's of good ideas here - ESPECIALLY the hard-line connections to the air compressor. Being able to work with air tools anywhere in the shop in a blessing. When you plan out the shop, don't forget the 240V outlets for the welders.

You might to tell the framers to rough out some windows on the side of the building looking at the front gate, lets you see if anyone is rolling up. Also a security door in front of your door is a must, harder for people to just bust the glass out and get in. Also maybe a high quality safe bolted to the floor to keep car keys in for the builds so no one can just walk in, grab keys, and drive off with the viper.

    • Someone

A long time ago when they first showed the plans for that building I think they were going to take down all the chainlink and replace it, also moving the entrance to the now front of the building. The current gate would be the back lot.

The garage looks so big now, but just wait until you start to measure out the lifts, the paint booth, and all the other laundry list of things you want to put into the shop. You will find that you two will outgrow the space faster than a speeding bullet. Look at how much space the current paint booth uses now as a reference. I am surprised that the garage has no windows. As mentioned in another comment consider putting in a fan to help vent the building. I am no expert, but I like windows for light, and to open to vent the air. Anyway, I have a double ear infection and the COVID fun too. So, your video was a nice distraction from all the fun I am having. 15 minutes of a distraction is always good. Keep up the good work!

Hey guys, you most definitely need some lifts and a paintbooth in your new shop. This way Billy can rebuild 100% without needing outside help. Much love from Montreal, Canada.

This is some awesome huge shop. How many lifts and cars will fit into it?. I love it and can’t wait to see it in full action ✊

Def want to see some lifts, designated tear down area and a paint booth is a must. Also a tire machine would be nice.

You could put a mezzanine level in the full length over the new office and over where the paint booth may go, it will give plenty of extra storage space for parts, merch and even somewhere for editing your videos. Keep up the good work looking forward to what is to come next

I would say do a concrete drive way around the new grage so that when ever u get any of your new build or just drive around doesn't damage any vehicle or even spoil the pain job because of rock chipping also cover th front portion where u guys are planing to park all your cars with y shape shed and install a gutter system so no rain water can come on your cars

Have that door open inwards, keep the hinges inside for security and also prevent wind catching and smashing door!!!

Doesn’t really matter if the hinges are external or not it’s the beading you need to worry about

I think the whole new garage is very high above ground and i would like to get explanation why you did not dig down further to simplify things. Getting in and out if the building with cars will be more challenging. Anyway awsome job😁 Also do you have a plan for protection of the cars that are stored outside? Love the channel 🥳

Biggest thing in my book guys would be a spray booth 👍🏼👍🏼 you guys always have to wait for it to be free 🤷🏻‍♂️ so you could rent it to others for some income 💵💰 looking crazy can’t wait for your next content 🙌🏻

  • Palinkat

Nice one guys, should have put a bit of DPC or foam pad under those 2x4 but they're pressure treated so not bad already!
